Békéscsaba Town Hall, an imposing building located on Szent István Square, is one of the most significant historical and cultural symbols of the city.
The construction of the town hall began in 1871, based on the plans of Ernő Sztraka and approved by Miklós Ybl. The building was inaugurated in 1873, and its romantic, early eclectic style has been an impressive sight ever since.
