The Munkácsy Musume built in 1914. This historic building, the beautiful museum is a must-see for anyone visiting Békéscsaba. 

The museum houses the world’s largest collection of Munkácsy’s works. The permanent exhibition titled “Mihály Munkácsy – The Triumph of a Genius” features not only the world-famous artist’s paintings but also his personal belongings. 

The permanent exhibition titled Békéscsaba on the timeline of millennia presents the history of Békéscsaba and the region from prehistoric times through the 20th century. The interactive exhibition showcases local Slovak and Hungarian traditions as well as the development of the city of Békéscsaba.
