Alongside the tasting of over 30 varieties of pálinka, locally produced, home-made delicacies from Békés County – such as sausages, ham, bacon, goose fat, crackling and körözött – are available on request; and, subject to prior arrangement, there is also the option of barbecuing, cooking in a bogrács (traditional cauldron) or cooking on a skewer.
The pálinka tasting programme:
Guests learn about the history of the distillery
They are given an overview of the pálinka distilling process
Our technologies are demonstrated
The different types of pálinka are discussed
They explain how they recommend enjoying fine pálinka and which dishes it pairs well with
They demonstrate the correct equipment and procedure for tasting pálinka
There is also an opportunity for an informal chat with Master Distiller Árpád Nagy Jr., who will let interested guests in on some of his closely guarded secrets
